That part was in the movie too, right? Last weekend Jeff and I set out to make the trek to Kansas City for a quick wedding planning weekend (a whole 48 hours), and unfortunately we got off to a rocky start thanks to some unforeseen travel delays.
When we missed our connecting flight from St. Louis to Kansas City we did what any sane people at 11pm would do, we rented a car and drove the last three and a half hours to Lee’s Summit. Oh, but it wasn’t as simple as it sounds.
^^ “Wait Jeff, just let me take this one picture to document this trip. I’m done after this, I swear. After all, this travel delay experience is going to be a great test in patience for us.” 😉 ^^
^^Finally, we found a place that would rent us a car and though we were a little annoyed we were optimistic.^^
^^And after a long wait in line, it was off to KC we went!^^
Oh wait, not so fast…
^^Turns out they won’t let you leave the lot even though they’ve assigned you the wrong car, so it was back in the line we went. Of course we hadn’t lost our patience with each other by this point or anything.^^
Finally, just after midnight we hopped in the correct car, grabbed some coffee and began the drive. I would have helped drive, but Jeff’s name was the only one on the rental. Besides, it was probably best I just sleep a little and not bother him. 😉
Thankfully we made it safe and sound, and while we went with a little less sleep than normal we spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with our mamas, tasting food, picking out napkin colors, etc…
^^Mom, don’t hate me for this picture, it was the only one I got of the four of us!^^
We also had to taste some famous Kansas City BBQ, because well, it’s important.
Oh, and we got to spend time with this cute gal,
and spy on her a little bit while she was working. I think we only slightly embarrassed her.
Not that she hates when I take lots of pictures or anything.
And last but certinatly not least, toast to my oldest sister Shannon (the one with the blonde curly hair), who’s having TWINS this summer (you should check out her blog, here). Though I should clarify that’s she’s drinking non-alcoholic champagne. Don’t want to worry anyone.
Whew! Reliving the busyness of last weekend is making me tired, but for the Rebori family I think that’s how the rest of the year is going to go!
Renovate our home, get married, become an aunt…the list keeps getting bigger and better.
