and what is our only “his and hers” shower. Trust me when I say, Jeff is very thankful for that fact. He reminded me many times that he “doesn’t like the spotlight.” I think he’s forgetting about the whole Wedding Day thing – where it’s all about us – but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Sidenote: He’s shy, I’m not exactly shy. How we ever ended up together, I’ll never know. 🙂
^^Case in point. I was probably talking up a storm, meanwhile Jeff was just quietly going about his business.^^
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, we were so lucky (I know, I know, I say that a lot these days.) because Jeff’s aunt and mom threw us the most lovely shower for friends and family out in the D.C.-area.
Not only did they go above and beyond, but Jeff’s dad Norm was a wonderful master of ceremonies. (a.k.a. game master)
Aside from all the fun game-playing, we got lots of great things for that ol’ house of ours!
Including a hand-stitched (that’s right, hand-stitched!) quilt from Jeff’s grandma! I’m almost afraid to touch it for fear I’ll ruin it.
And after relishing in all that great kitchen gear we got, which I think might just motivate me to take up cooking (keyword: might), we got to try our hand at a little cake-cutting.
^^Practice makes perfect, right?^^
And to top it all off, my beautiful mama came to town too. Oh and last but not least, I’m fairly certain we had the cutest one-year-old this side of the Mississippi at our shower. And who are we kidding, she stole the show.
And I think Jeff will happily let little Miss Addie have all the attention.
