On Making Christmas Traditions…

| Living life...

… while we might not have as many traditions as some (yet!), we have two we’ve been doing since we started dating, and each year, we’re looking to add more. Christmas Crepe Brunch 1 Christmas Crepe Brunch 2Our first Christmas season together, Jeff took me to a cute little crepe cafe in Old Town Alexandria, and not only did I love the food, but the ambiance just captures Christmas perfectly, so much so, last weekend we had our sixth annual brunch date! If you happen to go to Fontaine Caffe & Creperie, I highly recommend a glass of their hot cider, it’s truly the best around. Also, I’m not exaggerating when I say their “Just Peachy” crepe is divine. This time I think we devoured it in approx. 4 seconds, but who’s counting. 🙂

And speaking of Old Town, their residents know how to do Christmas. ↓Old Town Alexandria 1I’m a sucker for the look of simple greenery. Roaming their streets this time of year gives me serious real estate envy.

Old Town is also where I’ve listened to Jeff sing Christmas carols at a local art gallery for the past two years.Processed with VSCOcam with t1 presetAs I mentioned earlier, this is becoming a favorite tradition of mine – browsing the gallery and treating ourselves to a dinner at a local restaurant – it’s such a festive date night. Jeff's Christmas Concert 1And speaking of Jeff’s vocal talent (this is a very busy time of year for him!), the first time I met both of this parents was at his choir’s holiday concert two months after we started dating. It might sound silly, but each year it reminds me of that “new relationship” time in our lives – while I don’t love that time in our lives any more or less than where we are now, it definitely brings back all the nostalgic feelings – this year was no exception.

And last, but certainly not least, we added a new tradition to the mix …DAR Xmas 4 DAR Xmas 3 DAR Xmas 1… one of our good friends works for the Daughters of the American Revolution, and each year their headquarters – located right across from the White House – hosts a holiday open house. This year, I’m glad we took her up on the offer to attend, because they do Christmas trees right. Plus, we got to see this little one excited about seeing Santa, to absolutely fearing it, all in the matter of a few minutes. Two year olds. 🙂

Can’t believe we’re only a few days away from Christmas. I love our little traditions and I’m looking forward to adding more with each passing year!

The 4th of July, at least according to my trusty phone…

and looking back, it seems like all we did was eat. But, what’s more American than that? 😉

fourth of july 2014I’m a woman of few words this post (shocked? don’t get used to it my friends.), but all I’ll say is, America, you’re great. You’ve aged like a fine wine.

Now, back to a little ol’ wedding diet. Three months to go. ONLY THREE MONTHS. Help!

A peek at our Christmas morning…

| Living life...

in case anyone out there is interested. You’re all still out there, right?

Don’t worry, they’re mostly of Kelly, because lets face it, we all know she’s the cutest.

While Christmas was wonderful, as usual, we were down a few in the Rebori household (I’m looking at you Shannon, Austin and Jeff!) so, it was a little quieter than years past. Well as quiet as you can get with my other older sister Jenny and I’s loud voices, or so we’ve been told. 😉

Christmas Day 2013 1Somehow we all managed to have a great time opening our presents, enjoying each others company, and complimenting Kelly on her new cowboy boots and teeny-bopper magazines. (I’m still looking for the pictures of NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys, but apparently that’s not what the kids are into these days.)

Chrismas Day 2013 3 Christmas Day 2013 5Christmas Day 2013 6^^So it looks like I did manage to get a picture of someone other than Kelly.^^

Christmas Day 2013 4^^I’m telling you folks, a hug like that is the best gift of all.^^

That is until she photobombs all the standard “hold your stocking” photos!

Christmas Day 2013 9If it was anyone else… 🙂

Chrismas Day 2013 7^^Oh, and last but not least, we moved onto my mom’s famous monkey bread (I’m telling you, it really is the best), because there’s nothing like a carb and sugar-filled breakfast to get us ready for the big Christmas dinner later in the day!^^

If you need me the month of January, I’ll be at the gym. 🙂

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season! Thank you for letting me share tidbits of our Christmas morning.
